Next year I expect to have a 4th of July in the states! But for the fireworks that I missed this year...there is August 1st in Switzerland.
Today is Swiss National Day celebrating the federal charter of 1921. What it means for me is that there is no work today and fireworks in the evening. It also marks the start of the Geneva festival. There's a fair set up along the lake and there will be cool events and concerts happening every day. All nice diversions for the next two weeks.
Last Sunday I attended an english-speaking church in Geneva. It was so refreshing to worship God in the fellowship of believers. There's a group of young adults from the church doing a barbeque today, so I'm grateful for not being left a loner on such a holiday.

I presume you mean the Federal Chapter of **1291** - not 1921...
